Wind Turbine Update

Our Vestas wind turbine began operation in October, 2007. It was installed by Halus Power Systems, a supplier of remanufactured commercial wind turbines. It was originally used in Denmark.
 
The turbine is connected to the power grid through PG&E's net energy metering plan. It provides about 75% of the power used in the park. We are on track to recover its initial cost by late 2012 or early 2013.

The tower is 100’ tall with blades that are 27’ long. By comparison, the turbines you see across the river have blades that are 135-150 feet in length.


Dog Exercise Area

After a few years as “perpetual number 2” on the to-do list, this summer we began building our dog exercise area. The land is graded, the fence is up, and many improvements are coming.
